Hey Beautiful Human!
I see you…
You’re raising your beautiful family and building a career you feel proud of
When things are going well you totally back yourself —
YES! I can do all the things, I can keep this all together!
Butttt…
When shit hits the fan, the circumstances that used to make you feel supported (things like time for self-care, mostly-happy family members, quality time with your partner) go flying out the window.
And when you can't access these kind of resources that you’d normally use, it doesn’t take long before EVERYTHING feels overwhelming.
All of a sudden, you feel yourself freezing or retreating, and repeating patterns that you *thought* you’d moved past...
In those moments, your reality looks a bit like this:
You beat yourself up for spending more time at work than you do with your kid/s
When your kid/s have massive tantrums, you think, “I don’t know what the F*CK I’m supposed to do?!”
You compare yourself to the shiny happy people you see and wonder what it must be like to be someone who has their shit together
You tell yourself you’re a failure — as a mum, a wife, a professional...
Your relationship with your hubby starts to struggle because there's no time for the two of you: it's either work or the kids
‘Taking things the wrong way’ becomes your default and each conversation together feels like you’re on the brink of starting world war three
All of it leaves you worried that you’re role modelling this to your kids and you feel desperate to stop it in its tracks.
You find yourself thinking....
Why do I keep repeating these unhelpful patterns? Why am I like this?
And on your worst days, you believe the thought that leaves you feeling the most exhausted and hopeless:
I must be broken.
